This all came along at the right time for me. At 41 Im still surfing but no longer skate. Watching the BB video was the greatest thing. I've avoided skateboarding for years now in order to stay healthy and surf. but I feel like I can be a fan of skateboarding again without actually being a skater.
Its fun to own a classic Powell Peralta skateboard even if the only trick i do is get the mail. so glad these products are back and unlike the old days I can get a deck without destroying it in 6 months. Thanks stacy and The BB for presenting a solid, fun,enduring image of 80's skating.
Can you guys produce some small but detailed BB graphics that they could be used for homemade finger boards? ala Lance Mountain. By the way Lance, your a true boardsports stylist then and now. loved the Fronside invert to ladder and jumping the ladder! Just like the old days rewind stop rewind stop. Just want to give Powell Peralta many props and a huge thank you to the entire operation!! At age 13 I received my first McGill deck for Christmas my single mother worked two jobs to acquire for me. Growing up my skate friends became my family. Skated to age 17 and by then had 15 or so Powell boards. I absolutely love the re-issue decks and my wife surprised my with the Powell Peralta complete dvd set with the new documentary. Although I don't skate much these days, the decks bring back a since of satisfaction and great memories. We even planned a trip this summer to come see where all the magic happens at the powell Peralta factory. Not really sure how that works, I guess I will call and ask if it is at all possible to maybe take a few moments to look around. We are coming to that area the week of July 13-19 and would so much love to see what started some of the BEST years of my life. 40 now, grew up most of my life in Arizona skated every day no matter how hot it got. Launch ramps, half pipes that we barrowed wood from new home construction sites to build, pools(vacant homes), backsides of grocery stores, dry canals..you name it we skated it. We tagged the skull and cross bones on everything! This documentary brings it all back and as others have said unbelievable memories. Everyone has their eras but for those who grew up in this age of innovation in skating...it doesn't get any better. The youngster make me smile and there are some good skaters today....but the true greats were Bones Brigade!! Stacy your frickin awesome and I love your passion..keep pushing...bring it all back! Do a tour with the legends, have them do whatever to whatever capacity they can and then do a great big meet and greet....drink some wine and talk about the old days. Thank you for this bit of all of our history. Skate or die!

Back in 1987, I was 14 during a family vacation and I saw a group of skaters in South Padre Island and I was pretty interested, next year I got a copy of the Future Primitive video and that was the begining of everything that change my life. My hometown is in southern Mexico, in the east coast, a place called Veracruz and every body travel to the US border for shopping on holidays, when I turned 15 I bought my first deck, I still have it hanging on my wall, a Tommy Guerrero deck, other guys, you know, those friends from a friend, also bought Powell Peralta decks, soon we were 7 friends, all of them riding only Powell Peralta boards, one of us lived in front of the Zaragoza Park, so we called the Zaragoza Brigade, pretty soon we started a whole skater movement in the town, later we moved to play in rock bands, went to college, married, have kids, etc. A couple of years ago, I went to visit my old friend who lived in front of the park, but he wasn't there so I seat in a park bench and I started to remember stuff, when somebody, I didn't recognize him, started to talk to me about the old days, he seems to know everything about the ZB and its members, it made feel good. Last year I started to play again in a band and for fun and nostalgy I bought a couple of T shirts and suddenly everything started all over again, we got together as a band again, playing in local clubs, still wearing my new, old designs, Powell Peralta T Shirts, who might say that this brand will make my friends for a lifetime and reunite them with me after 10 years, thanks for every thing, I really mean it.

I was on Netflix the other day and I ran across the bones brigade movie. Of coarse I watch it and it was teenage years all over again. I started skating in 84-85 and that movie bought back such amazing memories. My brother and I skated everyday to school the store wherever. I had a mountain and my bro had a cab. Please tell Stacy and the whole Bones Brigade Crew.. Many Thanks for Creating The Bones Brigade AutoBio... I'm 45 now and quite honestly didn't know about it until I came accross it on Netflix last night.. I was in aw of all the stories, my friends and I must have watched the original 100 times or more.. It was great to see the whole gang and what they look like and to hear their stories as well as Stacy's.. It brought back many many good memories...My four year old was watching with me and I said you know All your shoes say Tony Hawk! Thats him! It was really interesting to find out that Stacy actually groomed this team, most us didn't know that we thought these guys just met at competitions and became buddies and got to skate all day. Seems like yesterday.... I've owned all those boards at one time or another.
Stacy says in the movie that he's embarrased by a lot of people when they say they liked the movies- I live in Sacramento and had to move to Montana with my dad for two years and to me and all the kids who live in places away from Cali.. I SAW FIRST HAND THESE VIDEOS WERE ALL THESE KIDS AND SKATERS HAD, TO SEE WHAT IS OUT THERE, TO LEARN TRICKS FROM AND TO SEE WHAT IS POSSIBLE OUT SIDE THEIR AREA! TO US THESE WERE THE COOLIST MOVIES EVER... AND YES WE DID RE INACT THE MOVIE and tried to be like Lance etc... SO AGAIN A BIG THANKS!!! THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PUT THIS TOGETHER! Back somewhere around 1986 when I was 16 years old, I saved up enough money to leave the poser world of crappy Nash skateboards behind and went to my local skate shop to set up my very first board from the ground up. It was a silver Per Welinder with Tracker trucks and Santa Cruz Slimeballs and Bones Swiss bearings. God I loved that board...it was f#cking beautiful! And growing up without a ton of money in a small town with nothing much to do, it was my most prized possession...Powell-Peralta was the putting out the best boards and sporting the best skaters...the Bones Brigade were our idols! Life was good!
I tell you that to tell you this: Today I'm 43 and still love to skate, just now, its on my long board cruising parking garages and neighborhood hills. I also now have an 8 year son who is showing interest in skating and is finally kicking around on the crummy starter board I got him for Christmas from Target a year or so ago, so its getting close to time to get him a new board. I couldn't think of any better reason to also get myself a new "classic" ride so I can enjoy some skating with my boy...I've never been a big fan of the boards that most kids are skating these days...(I guess you can call it old school or maybe just old). So I've been looking through all of the re-issues and old-school decks and I can't seem to find a Per Welinder deck anywhere?? Well, I found one guy selling a few for $499.00 !?! WTF??? Not sure if I get it? I'd kill to get my hands on a Per Welinder to set up and skate, but clearly not for $500 bucks! Just wanted to know what you can tell me about my options and the story behind the Per Welinder decks and re-issues. I still plan to set up a Powell-Peralta retro board for kicking around with the boy, but I thought I'd ask you guys what was up....I dig the Cab Chinese Dragon and the Cab Street re-issues and I'm sure for what I'd be skating with it, it would be just fine, but there is just something about that Per Welinder that I can't get over! Thanks for making great boards and products for so many years.

I'm 17 and I have skated on and off for the past 10 years I have always considered myself as an old school skater. And with the Powell Peralta Caballero street on my huge independent trucks sitting on some black G bones I love it. I'm coming back to this brand every time for the rest of my life.

Just got my a couple of the Bones Brigade reissues in the mail. Love them, thanks for going with the old school truck bolt pattern and the real squared off wheel wells. Thanks for putting the "reissue" below the top graphic, that way nobody get's duped into paying NOS prices for a reissue but the look great on the walls. While you have the old wheel well sanders fired up please, please, please do a proper reissue of the Vato Rat and the Ripper. I'd gladly pay $99.99 for a couple top notch reissues of those decks, I'm sure a lot of other guys would too. P.S. - Screen them instead of the sublimate graphics, charge another $25 dollars or so and the old guys (like me) will be throwing our money at you.

I just want to start off by saying thank you to the whole Powell Peralta team and crew. I use to skateboard when I was 12 years old up to about 15, but when I was 16 I tore the cartilage in my left knee. Needless to say, I stopped skating. I am 21 now, and for those 5 years, I didn't skate, but I watched so many videos of skaters who inspired me in the first place, Steve Caballero being one of them, and it made me miss skating so much. And about a month ago, with the help of my local skate shop, I purchased a Ray Rodriguez Skull & Sword reissue and hopped back on. And it feels amazing to be back! I'm far from as good as I use to be, and I've been falling more than I use to, but I have this company to thank to inspire me and motivate me enough to drop back into a pool. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me keep the kid inside me alive and strong.

I have a Powell-Peralta Medallion Tony Hawk skateboard that I love. I threw on some reverse freestyle wheels and got a couple of world records last week. This board is a tank and is built to last and I dig the shape. It is my bread and butter and go to board when I need to throw down. I feel very confident when riding this vintage board at high speeds. I just wanted to tell you guys what an inspiration you are. A friend of mine was a super fan and pretty decent skateboarder. He was in a horrific car accident about eight years ago and lost the ability to walk; let alone skateboard.
He ordered the new Bones Brigade movie and he made me watch the trailer for it today. As I was watching it over the phone with him, I could hear him beginning to tear up and he just kept saying, "Those guys changed my life.'
I know you have a lot of super fans out there, I just wanted to let you know you have the awesome ability to bring a 37 year old man to tears still.

Ladies and Gents at Powell,
I was feeling somewhat nostalgic this morning, and had the sudden impulse to build an old deck, which I loved and subsequently road to dust as a young man. The board was a Powell Hotel, but I see (apparently) that you no longer make this model. I wanted to double check however, to make sure, and also to see if you might reccomend a deck of a similar design. Thank you for whatever response you can provide.

Came across a vintage 1991 Steve Caballero Motorcycle Dragon skateboard deck. Trick is, this deck is black with a red dragon. I have never seen one of these, not even on the internet. Just wanted to know a little bit about the skateboard history that I now hold.

My name is Kevin LeBlanc, I an 39 years old, My first board was in 1985, it was a blue Tony Hawk board, gullwings, and vision shedder wheels. I remember this, because I work my butt off all summer to buy it. I was 12 years old. I had a lot of Powell decks after that,but that was my favorite board. This also was the same year my father died. For my 40th birthday all I wanted was a mint Tony Hawk Board. Today my dreams came true!!! along with the Mullen, and Tommy deck. Yesterday i saw the premiere of the film Bones Brigade, here in Brazil and found aewesome.
I just wonder one thing. Where is the movie VCJ? He is a key player in building the image of the Bones Brigade along with the skaters. The image of skaters is fully associated with the shapes and designs of their shirts. That's it. I missed VCJ in the documentary. But it's a great film that I will treasure. I've been a skater since the 70s. My first board was a craptastic piece of plastic. I watched pro skaters like Stacy and fell in love with Powell-Peralta immediately. My father was also in aerospace like George Powell. I purchased & tried to put Bones on that crappy board and failed miserably. I recently sold a Santa Cruz Classic Face (Rob Roskopp) Cruiser Board. This reminded me of my roots & I started rebuilding a Hobie Board with Powell Mini Logo Bearings & Powell Oval Dragon Wheels. I am two years older than The BIRDMAN to THE DAY! I can't wait to finish my rebuild and skate this refurbished board with Powell wheels & bearings, Pig Pile Risers, Shorty's Hardware and a decent Hobie Deck. When I saw that George & Stacy reunited I was CraZy for the new things they could do.

Basically, Powell's are definitely the number one choice when it comes to my deck. When I want a good solid made deck with great pop I go to Powell, and not only does it have great pop but the pop lasts longer than any other brand I've skated. The ligament feature is nice so you don't go doing the splits and breaking your balls. Thanks Powell for making superb skateboard decks.

With your graphic "Hydrant Dragon" you scored a bullseye. We are so stoked to see a unique graphi these days. Tell VCJ: Well done after he tried to get into the game on the Hoffart model. The "Jesse Tribute" is a good one too, but the dragon beats it by miles.
It`s so delightful to see new unique graphics coming from Powell & Peralta. We thought we would never be so hyped again after the 1st Barbee and Hill graphic were released- Instant classics.
Is there any chance that you`ll print the Hydrant Dragon masterpiece on a piece of cotton in form of a shirt and (or) hoddie? Would be so cool!!!!

Seeing you guys reissue all the old school decks really bring me back to a time where all we cared about was sk8ing! Meeting up with about 1/2 dozen of our friends we would literally ride all over looking for spots we could shred. It wasn't like it is now where every town has a skatepark. We had to make do with whatever we could find out there. And man, was it awesome. Of course to get primed we would watch "animal chin" and attempt to skate like the BB. Thank you for all the memories and keep the reissues coming. I think there is literally 150 decks in my collection now !!

I was 11 when a neighbor of mine showed me his McGill skull and snake. I knew the second I saw that board, That i was looking at top of line. Growing up in a working class family I knew I couldn't have a P&P... That was, until I got a paper route at 14 or 15. After a few months, I finally squeezed out enough dough to get a pro board! Of course it was a Powell/Peralta, the tony hawk street model. At 37, I still ride but cant get myself to build the reissues that I've gotten from you (still the poor kid in me, maybe!). I still see them as works of art. Anyway, thank you for years of memories!

Hey what's up guys I was a skate boarder back in the 80's remembering the time watching you guys on all the bones brigade and until this day i wish I could meet everybody in person I did one time at hunington beach ca. At a expo I skate boarded with Tony hawk and jason lee I skate boarded with a lot of pro's at my time I did a lot of street skating and some ramp. And the greatest there ever was. I'm 41years old I have a family wife and two kids and I talk about the pass I talk about how Powell peralta team is the best I talked about when I Ollie over a trash can standing up I ollied I was a good street skater I skate boarded for about ten years tell this day I could get on a board and do amazing things some people say wow who showed you that move and I tell them from watching all bones brigade video you guys keep up the good work you guys are never forgotten I will always remember you guys for the rest of my life. i was a pretty hardcore skater in my youth and loved th powellperalta team. well about 2 months ago i watched the lords of dog town movie and the intensity of the founders such as yourself inspired me to ride again. im 38 years old and suprisingly only after a few sessions i felt as comfortable on your board as i di twenty plus years ago. we r fairly on the poor side and own one vehicle so ive been skating to work and it feels great. even my co workers think its awsome. thank u so much for showing me again what it feels like to be back on a board@ i cant realy afford to adorn my deck with different powell peralta stickers but when im able to i will maybe inspire others to pick it back up again thank u. respectfully tommy

Powell Peralta is one of my favorite brands of all time! I first rode a borrowed McGill board in 1989 when I first got into skating and then purchased my first P/P deck in 1990, a Lance Mountain dough-boy. There is only one true skateboarding brand and that is Powell Peralta! To keep the tradition alive, last year I purchased the dagger board and love it. Keep up the good work and the great web-site! I check it on a regular basis. Although I no longer skate ramps and half-pipes, I still like having a deck handy to skate around the block with the dogs to prove that I can still skate and do an ollie. Keep up the great work and may Powell Peralta live forever!!

Hey Powell Peralta,
I'm writing you guys this note to let you know what an amazing lasting impression your company made on me as a skate kid growing up on the east coast of Canada in Halifax.
My journey with your company began on a Steve Steadam board in the mid eighties. At that time, our town had one half pipe and a whack of 1/4 pipes in my buddies driveways. We lived it and the stoke we got from Powell has lasted a lifetime.
Fast forward to present day.....I''m now a 37 year old adult.....or at least trying my best to be one. I have my own board shop and I have an opportunity to engage and connect with the skate scene. In my own way I am giving back to the community and trying to ignite the stoke of the new generation....a generation that doesn't know what it was like to be a rider back in the early 80's.
It all has come full circle and I am stoked to help grow the skate community because for me there is nothing else like it. I still ride and every time I put someone on one of re-release Powell decks I get this tingly feeling like I am doing something special. Something only people who grew up in awe of the Bones Brigrade could feel.
I'm writing this to you guys to say thanks. Thanks for inspiring me to connect with my earliest passion and start a board shop. Thank you for being still being around so that I can showcase the awesomeness that is Powell Peralta at my shop.
I just assembled my newest ride....a Cabellero Chinese Dragon that I just rode around my block. To this day, there isn't another logo on the planet that makes me appreciate my roots as much as the Powell Peralta. It has transcended what a logo should mean to people. When dudes like us see it it reminds us of how special and important and rad a company can be. It brings us back to one of the most rad times in skateboarding and it is super important for us to share the legacy with the new gerneration.

Here is my testimonial: Powell Peralta Boards are the best!!!
I've been skateboarding most of my life and I've skated all kind of boards, from the el;cheepo's to the most expensive, from old school to new and the boards I've loved most and still ride today is the Powell Peralta old school decks.
Although I got them as hand-me-downs from skaters who stopped or changed style of board, they are the most durable and the most wickedest to skate. My, I think its a James McGill, lasted me 8 years and the guy before me skated it for a good 10 years, hard core.
The one I ride now, although I'm not sure which one it is, I've had now for 15 years and the guy before me also about 15 years.
Besides tail and nose damage, nothing else wrong with it.
Brilliant boards!!! I'm definitely going to buy myself another one soon, the finger board looks perfect, my 1st officially brand new PP, can't wait.
