Kilian Martin and Brett Novak joined up with Mercedes-Benz for Kilian's latest skateboard piece; Altered Route. Kilian says about the video, " I think this video really expresses the passion that we have for what we do. We drove ourselves into being storytellers, to hopefully inspire people. To me skateboarding is powerful. It makes me feel all kind of things."
Brett says, "We want to keep pushing ourselves artistically. That is why we were so excited about this location and the car, as it is so different to what we normally do."
Altered Route
Hadassa Haack sat down with Kilian and Brett after finishing a Mexican dinner for an interview about the collaboration.
I noticed Kilian skating Frankie Hill boards doing the video, is Powell Peralta planning to do a re-issue?
That was the most amazing spot ever, and great filming, but truly atrocious skating. That actually made me a bit gutted!
We completely enjoyed working with Kilian, Brett, and Hadassa on this project. Side note: you guys have great boards!
Between this guy and Hawaii's Jason Park, skateboarding has found it's new breed of originality. Outside the box skating. Very nice.
