Going to the King of the AMs contest at KTR with my friend.
I remember when I first saw a movie called Gleaming The Cube. Tony Hawk was in it and from there I got into skating.
The movie is from 1985 all I wanted to do is skate and skate!!
Mine would be when I first started skateboarding I went to a camp.in Oregon and tony hawk was there I watched him skate and I was hooked . Got home that evening and rented wheels of fire vid . Still remember the whole vid .
A snapshot: One summer morning, back in 1977, the scent of new urethane wheels filled up the room during the night, and it woke me up. I took my brand new plastic board without griptape and hit the streets of my hometown, barefeeted, and with just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt on me i hooked up with my friends, both skaters and non skaters. And when the sun went down we all were skaters, even those who were non skaters at the beginning of the day. We became united by skateboarding. And that feeling is still with us skaters today, whenever i meet skateboarders, both young and old.
I still skate parks and ramps and i am 48 years young.
/Tero Larsson, Sweden.
love them all!!!
Please please please please please please pretty please
When I was 13 I snuck out to hang with some friends. My sister had snuck out that night too and while she was out with her 3and friends, a cop stopped them and asked why they had so much toilet paper in the middle of the night. Her friend told the officer that his mom had diarrhea. The cop made the boys walk home and gave my sister and her friend a ride. While he was lecturing them in our parents driveway, they heard a loud noise and looked up the hill to see me skateboarding home.
The cop looked at me, looked at my sister then back to me. He shook his head and said "some parents just don't give a damn" then he got in his car all mad and drove off. Sk8 boarding was my transporation for years. I still love to ride.
I remember skating in the 80's started around 8 yrs old with the Cab board being my first. Skated bowls, a few half pipes and some street. Then my next board was the Skull & Sword and even got the long sleeve shirt to go along with it. that was always my favorite. Bought both at a shop in Maryland. Continued to skate ramps and bowl got better over the years. Continue to watch comps all over then my best memory was meeting Tony Hawk, and a few other at Del Mar Skate park 1985 skating with Bones Brigade. I love the comp and my cousin actually took me up to him to meet him. A memory that lasted forever, still remember that day meeting a young Hawk and to know what he has become and accomplished throughout his life. Still a fan of the Brigade and cant wait to see the documentary.
Okay so I first got into skateboarding through my unandcle because he passed me down his board.
I got a board from my uncle and I had itfor some years.I learned to skate at belvedere skatepark. And my uncle passed away in 08 ;'c I only have the deck now but I entered CASL contests and I have won a few and I know if he was there hewould have been so proud
First memory skateboard was pulling off an ollie, after watching an Agent Orange video.
These are sooo sick!! I would kill for one of these (especially the Ripper). Grew up with Powell and can't wait to see the documentary!!!
Oh and today's my 37th birthday (not joking and have the documentation to prove it). This would be such a rad present. I love you. :)
My first memory was the day I was introduced to Animal Chin, from that moment I was on the search. Soon after on the search looking for the air and flight I experienced the joy of dislocating my elbow at Belconnen skate park Canberra Australia and I was hooked. Inspired by Hawk, Caballero, and McGill then broken by a half pipe an Element Case would just make it all better
Cheers
Long live the skater!
my first memory is recovering from my battle against cancer (Craniopharyngioma) and watching kids skate in the street in front of my house, I was 5 years old at the time. I still had traintracks running from my fore head back to my ear and threw on some shoes, snuck downstairs, and out the door. I watched the kids skate for a bit and finally asked if i could try! They were heasitant but i begged and they said okay just wear a helmet. I put it on and tried pushing 30 minutes later was popping ollies, bonelesses, and pop shove its. This is my first memory on a skateboard and that was fall of 2000 then that following may got my first board and have been skating 11+ years strong!!! as well as 11+ years 100% Cancer free!!! This is my true story and one of my best memories ever!!! Thanks for being the first board i rode on as well skateone, rode a mini logo that day!!! and now i ride Powell's. Thank you! - Ryan Taylor

I just want to represent POWELL PERALTA every were I go. You guys shaped the way I live my life !!! I was 5 yrs old and my older brother took me to the skatepark with him every day. My passion for all things skateboarding has been with me know for 33 years.
That's very cool but if I got one ( The Ripper) I guess I would have to go out and get a fancy phone to put in it. Hmmm
I memer skating since I was 9,10 years old my first skateboard was a nash, but soon realized there were very cool boards besides this.I had powell, vsion,g&s,dogtown, man the skateboarding in the 80's was #1 my favorite saying was sk8 or die!!
I have been a big fan for more than 20 years, please please.
Earliest skating memory is going to Surf City in London in 1976/77 and trying to skate for the first time, I spent more time on the floor than I did on the deck! Happy days that got happier skating at Harrow Skatepark and being one of the early Harrow Boyz.
I just want to represent POWELL every were I go. I was Skating over 20years with Powell decks that Inspirate me all Time Long.
I was introduced to skateboard at church by my friend Jamie. Once I stepped on his Caballero, I was hooked. He gave me a copy of Thrasher and I scrimped & saved. Finally I mail-ordered my first stick, a red Hawk Mini with Indy 159’s, Rat Bones wheels. From that point forward, it felt like I was in heaven. I am indebted to Jamie for the past 26-years of thrills, spills and chills. I am indebted to Jamie and thank you Powell-Peralta!!!
First memory made through skating, throwing our Zenith tube TV out my second story bedroom window...my parents never understood that. Thanks for the memories Stacey.
