Chin lives in all our hearts I've found him in snowboarding sick lines in Tahoe in my on backyard ramp in South Carolina growing up and skating backyard creation and skatparks in SC NC Fla upstate NY Colorado Utah Oregon and California some spots you never thought would be cool are the best like the little ditch in front of Alpine Meadows follow your dreams and your folly and you'll find Chin
I found animal chin waiting on the flat bottom the first time I dropped in on transition...
I found Animal Chin by watching it back in the 80's (repeatedly)and more recently again in the past several years. Than skating everywhere I can whenever I can over the past 30 years. That is how I found Animal Chin!
i wasn't looking for him when HE found me...
I remember hanging out in my garage in the mid 80's messing around on my skateboard. I had no idea who the old Animal guy was on my brother's sticker nor why people cared he was missing. I was quickly educated via VHS and learned that skateboarding should always be fun and how its all about the journey... that mentality still holds true 3 decades later not only in skating but with life--- Thanks Animal Chin!!!
I found "Animal Chin" & again only most recently, & what's not sad about it is ? I found him again in my 30somethings. ~ "you can take a boy from his daily grind, to a 9 till 5! But you will never take the daily grind from a man who's found "Animal Chin"...!

a friend of mine sister, work at a video store. she told us that they had skate videos. animal chin they have it! a little movie about skateboarding! every friday for months when i would get my allowance, i would skate 4 miles to rent. every time when i skate back home to watch it, i always thought in my mind that i would be skateing behind tommy, lance, mike, tony, and cab! best times in my life!
i founded the animal chin since the window of my room. watching a guy skating a guerrero deck (sword and flames). It´s was the eigthy four, i think. the skate involved my life since this moment.
I found Animal Chin Thinking about the best time of my life. Freedom and skating everywhere for anyone..
I quit skating back in 90-91 because i had no other skaters to skate with or parks around, and i simply wasn't progressing.Played other sports,but skating remained on my mind.
I had not yet found Him...
I live in Seattle, where Sk8parks have been popping up like CRAZY!Last June,20years later, i went out,bought a powell(it's all i know)Ripper and have been skating everyday since(when it's dry) I've definitely found Chin now, and although in my 30s,I'm Stoked!
How I found him
Believe it or not I had my "Have you seen him" shirt on and we were coming home from a chinese buffet and no lie there was Animal Chin at the local park. The dude had the hat and long white goatee. I told my girl to stop so I could say hi. By the time we turned around he was gone but he lives in my neighborhood here in Colorado. That spot were I had seen him has become a hot spot for skaters and great skating.
Thank you Powell-Peralta, I am humbled to say the least and am sure that every participant deserved this as much as I did. We are all kindred spirits and skateboarding is the strongest bond I know. Much Respect to each and every one of you.
I think Powell should publish Jeff Haynes' "how I found him" so we can all experience the experience of finding Chin as he did..
I was having fun in event at our self made skatepark and over a hundred of people were watching our skating. I thought that i want to suprise audience for something new and push my limits further.

At that point, when i was continuing my way, i had deep joy, i felt his touch.
