Bones Brigade Documentary Update
![]()
Stacy stopped by the office and shared a couple of first edit rough clips of the Bones Brigade Documentary with George. They were both very stoked. Early next week Stacy will be conducting the second round of interviews for the Documentary. Expected completion is the end of 2011.
In this photo, Jim Knight shares with George and Stacy the layout for the Powell-Peralta/SOC coffee table book that is being worked on.
I can't wait. Stacy is one of the best at making documentaries. This movie is gonna smell like half pipes, sunshine, and freedom. Man...I always tag the old school bones logo when I am skating a new spot...marks our territory as skaters. When other skaters see Bones, they know they have found a gnarly skate spot...So excited to see this when it comes out.
I am anxiously awaiting the Bones Brigade documentary.
Stacy has proven himself quite the filmaker, as well as having been a huge influence in my early skating days.
Having followed and skated with the Bones Brigade was so much fun.
Those guys are the sh#t.
Awesome! Thanks Stacy for allowing me to participate and work with you and John on this exciting movie! I am really looking forward to the day this gets released! - Lynn Cooper
I think when you start shooting the interviews with the "complete-nobody-skaters-who-were-deeply-inspired-by-the-Bones-Brigade-and-are-still-riding-24-years-later" you should totally give me a call. I'm just over in the Valley. I can be on the set in no time flat!... Just kidding... But not really.

Cooll men cool
nothing not even the dogtown doc will be s huge as this so stacy the only thg after this will be to do solo documentaries on cab--hawk --mountain--rodney
As much as i loved the Z-Boys doc i was too young to have appreciated them their prime. The Bones Brigade was to my 80s skate rat ass what the Dogtown crew was to a 70s skater: the best, the baddest and the coolest.
Can't wait for this. I remember being at Marina when they were filming Cab's early Caballerials in the upper keyhole. Does anyone remember for a short period you could "join" the BB, like a fan club deal, and you got one of the mustard yellow t's and some stickers and stuff?...I swear I remember this and had joined and got all the stuff...it's all a bit hazy now though. Anyway, stoked for the flic.
Skating makes me feel young, glad I started at 55. I love movies, and I know I'll see this one. Good luck. BTW-That's O.G., for Old Gary. Venice, CA
