Kilian is one of those very courageous, independent, creative, innovators who only come along infrequently, because the pressure of the “accepted style” is so great it blunts and muffles the efforts of most innovators who would forge their own trail. Perhaps it takes someone special from outside the California epicenter of the sport to remind us that skateboarding is still very personal, innovative, FUN, and should never be limited by the popularity of any one segment of the sport. Skateboarding is what each one of us chooses to make it for ourselves, not what anyone else pressures us to make it in order to validate their choices. That is what makes it skateboarding.
